With Valentine’s day coming up and because we love the planet and want to share the love, we want to offer you this amazing chance to try out some of our products that will reduce your impact on the planet and all at wholesale prices!
Yes, it’s true; there’s no joining fee for a very limited period of 3 months (1st February to 30th April 2011). You get a full 12 months to try out the wholesale products either for yourself or you could create an eco buying group with your friends/neighbours or for your school/charity/group/organisation. At the end of the 12 months there will be a small renewal fee of £12 and at that point you can choose from the following options:
1. Upgrade to distributor status (£48, with an annual renewal fee of £12) which enables you to carry on buying for yourself and family at wholesale prices plus you can retail to others (there are 12 methods) and build a team if you want to to gain commission as well and you will have full access to some fantastic training and support. Every product sold even if it’s just a roll of our pedal bin liners (which degrade in just 18 months without the specific conditions that some biodegradable bags need and that costs just £1.79) will help reduce the pollution on the planet and so that affecting you and your family. There are a huge range of everyday cleaning and laundry household products as well as toiletries including aloe vera products, cosmetics, vitamins and supplements, energy saving gadgets, pet products. You can see the full range on my website (www.worldwikaniko.co.uk) and as a distributor you will get your own website just like this included in the joining fee.
2. You can remain as a wholesale buyer which means that you can continue to buy products for your personal use/your group to use at wholesale prices and you have the option to have your own label on a wide range of eco-friendly skin and haircare products and essential oils (you can read more about this on the ‘Own Brand’ tab of my website). It costs just £59 to have your labels set up. This position does not enable you to build a team or retail the non branded products or have access to the training. This position is ideal for sole traders and small businesses that would like to have their own range of eco-friendly products. E.g. alternative therapists, hairdressers, beauticians, hotels and even charities who can use the ‘own brand’ products for fundraising by stocking the products in their shops or encouraging their supporters to buy direct by linking to their Wikaniko website from their own one.
3. You can just walk away and lose the benefit of purchasing part of your or your group’s household shopping at wholesale prices and not take those tiny steps to being a little greener.
4. You could sign up as an online customer and purchase your eco-friendly products direct and get them delivered to your door. However this means that you have lost the advantage of buying at wholesale prices. This is assuming that there isn’t a Wikaniko distributor nearby – who can deliver for free! If there isn’t one, then maybe this is actually a good opportunity for you to earn a second income whilst helping people take small steps to being a little greener and in the process helping their family’s health as well as your own and that of the planet?
If you want to discuss the options with me or have made your mind up already and just want the wholesale application form, please don’t hesitate to contact me via the form on this website or by email or phone (details on my Wikaniko website) or send me a message via facebook or twitter or email using the links to the bottom right of this page.
Feel Empowered By Taking A Small Step
I was thrilled to see this video by my friend Niki who shows how empowering it is to just take one small step. We can all do a little bit and things will then be a little bit better instead of just complaining or sticking our heads in the sand. You can read more about feeling empowered at Niki’s blog here.
Eco Places To Go: College Lake Nature Reserve
We had a lovely trip to our local Nature Reserve at the weekend. It was a beautifully sunny day and the lakes looked a lovely deep and sparkly blue.
I remember College Lake being a chalk quarry many years ago but over the last 20 years it has been restored into a mix of different habitats and is very popular with birdwatchers in particular, you can read more about the site here.
A few months ago the new Visitor Centre opened. It is an eco-friendly building which was designed to blend into the landscape. It has a turf roof, created from the flower-rich grassland on the site. The building is of timber construction and has some rammed chalk walls inside of it. There is a mammoth tusk in a pit covered with glass in the centre of the main foyer floor.
We saw masses of butterflies, damsel flies, dragonflies, herbs, flowers, grasses and some birds on the water. We saw tiny butterflies like the gatekeeper and also the Essex Skipper and Marbled White.
There are various events held throughout the year but it is worth a visit anyway if you are in the area, there are lots of bits and pieces for children to look at and woodland paths to explore. My daughters were given a sheet of wildlife and plants to look out for which kept them busy as we walked around the lakes and because it was the weekend the café was open which helped re-fuel them afterwards!
If you can recommend any great places to see eco-projects, wildlife etc. please leave a comment below.
5 Useful Eco-Friendly Wedding Websites
As we’re in the main wedding season and there seems to be a trend to being more eco-friendly in what is often a very extravagant and expensive day in some people’s lives I thought I’d give you a small list of resources that you may find useful if you are planning your wedding day either this year or next.
Eco-Friendly Weddings – this site has masses of information including a UK and International Supplier Directory plus Eco Wedding Ideas
EcoWedding – this lovely site was set up by a couple who have planned their own green wedding and wanted to create a website as a resource guide for others.
GreatGreenWedding – this easy to navigate site covers the main areas to consider when planning your wedding and has links to suppliers under each area.
GreenUnion – a comprehensive planning and resource guide offering stsylish fair trade, green, organic, local and low impact alternatives.
MyEcoChicWedding – this is a U.S. website that has lots of information and some handy wedding planning and wedding day checklists.
Don’t forget that you can buy unusual products for your wedding or for use at other events from my online shop eg these funky eco-plates that hold a wine glass as well and once finished with can be planted in the garden as they are impregnated with a sunflower seed! Plates come in a pack of 8 and will fully biodegrade in 3 months.
Top 11 Uses For White Vinegar
One of my best selling Wikaniko products to local customers via the catalogues is the white vinegar in a handy spray bottle which retails at just £1.16 for 500ml. If you’re not local you can order via my online shop. The product is very economical so you will also save money on more expensive cleaners and also help reduce the pollution from them into our environment. White vinegar has a mild odour which soon disappears, unlike malt vinegar which is not suitable for cleaning with.
White vinegar has been safely used as a cleaning solution for centuries and has the following properties:
- Disinfectant – kills most mould, bacteria and germs due to its level of acidity.
- Deodorises
- Cuts grease, limscale and wax build up
- Removes mildew
- Removes stains on carpets, countertops, pots and pans.
